My Life in Words

I thought I should come up with a title for today's post, although it probably is hardly related with what I'm gonna type...

I met a young korean boy in kids church today. He had just arrived from korea and cannot speak english. There was hardly anyone who knew how to speak korean(the best I could muster was saying ann-yeong hye-seyo(i probably didn't spell this right=P) to him) It was hard to make him feel at home(metaphorically-speaking) because we couldn't communicate with him. But,what happened was...this boy, carried a wide smile wherever he went, and managed to have fun playing volleyball and participating in the group activity. What amazed me,was that even though he was in a unfamiliar place,he did not shirk away from the rest of the kids, and instead, went and join in the fun.

I know a few koreans, from church and school. They're generally really friendly,warm-hearted,good conversationists(i.e.they can chat really well/they come up with good conversations)(i can't get a clear-cut meaning out..i'll try this again..what i mean is that they can chat well with others-like as in,they know how to chat and connect with you, makes you feel like you wanna be friends with them, and just continue talking etc.) and they're extremely good dressers.

And for those people who study korean, japanese,as well as,chinese(i.e.some of my friends),i think it is a great thing that you're learning the language, and trying to master it better.Even though it may be tough learning an additional language, especially those who are chinese, and taking up korean,or vice versa with other languages, there're actually so many things you can use your language abilities for.
Apart from being able to communicate, for korean language-learners,with koreans everywhere, and learn about korea's culture and history, you can use the language you've learnt to minister to others, and translate & communicate with them what you've heard from church and other various sermons.
Learning an additional language, such as korean and chinese,is a tool that will be with you for life,if you choose to constantly put it to practice. There are plenty of people who wished to be in your shoes, and learn these languages. You must never give in,no matter how tough it gets.Always think of the numerous things you can do in the future with your language abilities(you could set your dreams as ambitions, and work towards that, setting mini goals,it will help you get through times when you think it is just impossible to do something,or when you might be in despair or getting lazy, and you just need something to charge you up,some goal to work towards,to see you through the tough times.) There may be tough times ahead, but time pass fast, and how much effort you put into learning the language, will determine how much you will benefit from it in the future.Never let the 'future' you regret what you didn't do,but rejoice in the achievements of your hard work!

random fact about me: one of my dreams is to watch a musical someday(:
